The 2013 Chevrolet Corvette marks 60 years of production for the legendary sprinter. This will be the last year of what is called the C6 generation Corvette, a new design for its debut for the 2014 model year is expected. In order to send the last Corvette C6 with a bang and to celebrate the 60th anniversary, Chevy has produced a special edition Corvette, the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Convertible, and a package design 60th anniversary. The 427 Convertible Z06 motor Fuentes and only comes with a six-speed manual transmission. It also takes the suspension and performance upgrades from the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and 2013 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

The 2013 Corvette is like Baskin-Robbins-there are plenty of flavors and all are delicious. Besides the above 427 Convertible, there is also the Coupe/Convertible standard Grand Sport Coupe/Convertible, Z06, and ZR1 filling line. Standard and Grand Sport models are powered both by an aluminum 430-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8 which produces 424 pounds-feet of torque. An optional exhaust system performance numbers such bumps 436 and 428, respectively. Until next time, the Z06 and 427 Convertible to get a bigger, more powerful V-8-a 505-horsepower, 7.0-liter V-8 which produces 470 pounds-feet of torque. King of the hill is the ZR1, which has a staggering 638 horsepower, supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, which makes 604 pounds-feet of torque that can push the ZR1 all the way to a top speed of 205 mph. The six-speed manual transmission is standard with launch control for quick starts, while a six-speed automatic is available on base and Grand Sport models.

Each increase of Corvette trim level adds its own special touches. 2013 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport models add the stiffer suspension and wider tires for better traction. Beyond a larger engine, the Z06 also receives larger brakes, stiffer suspension, even, and aerodynamic improvements that are necessary for a car whose speedometer runs all the way up to 198 mph. Convertible 427, as mentioned above, has some bits Z06 and ZR1, including selective magnetic driving rear-mounted battery and carbon fiber pieces of equipment. Finally, the ZR1 gets older updates: Magnetic Selective Ride, the Brembo-brakes and the carbon fiber roof, hood and front fenders.

Inside, the Corvette sleeps two and offers a comfortable respite from the chaos flying. Like most sports cars, the seating position is low to give drivers a better feel for the road. Standard 2013 Chevrolet Corvette interior features include dual-zone air conditioning, the leather upholstery, key-less entry and remote start, and the satellite radio. Also available the  navigation system, the Bluetooth connectivity and heated seats.

The 2013 Chevrolet Corvette has not been crash-tested by either NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) or the IIHS but then, nor many other high-end sports cars. All Corvettes come with anti-lock brakes, the stability control and the traction control active management, dual front and side airbags, brakes immensely capable, and agile handling the better to help avoid an accident in the first place.
