2018 Acura NSX or 2018 Honda NSX, marketed in North America as the Acura NSX, is a two-seat mid-engined sports car manufactured by Honda / Acura. The origins of the NSX go back to 1984, with the HP-X concept (Honda Pininfarina eXperimental), which was a sports car with a 3.0L V6 rear engine with a central engine. Honda is committed to the project, with the intention of achieving or exceeding the performance of the Ferrari V8 engine range, offering reliability and a lower price. The concept evolved and its name changed to NS-X, which meant “New”, “Sportscar” “eXperimental”, although the production model was launched under the name of NSX.

In December 2007, Honda announced its intention to launch a successor to NSX for 2010, based on the design of the Acura ASCC (advanced sports car concept) with front V10 engine. Although the prototypes were tested for production only a year later, Honda announced plans had been canceled due to poor economic conditions. Instead, in March 2010, Honda introduced the HSV-010 GT to compete in the Japanese SuperGT Championship. This car never appeared as a legal street car.

The first production vehicle bearing the VIN 001 was auctioned by Barrett Jackson on January 29, 2016. Rick Hendrick, owner of the NASCAR team, won the auction with a bid of $ 1,200,000. The entire offer was donated to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and the Camp Southern Ground Charity. The first NSX left the line in Ohio on May 27, 2016. Hendrick was there to execute it. The first sales of the new NSX in the United States and registered in June 2016.

The production model was exhibited three years later at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, on sale in 2016. Although the original name has been retained, this time it was defined as “New Sports experience”.  Unlike the first-generation NSX manufactured in Japan, the new NSX was designed and designed in Marysville, Ohio, at the Honda plant, by designer Michelle Christensen and chief engineer Ted Klaus.

It was powered by an all-aluminum 3.0L V6 engine, which included VTEC (Variable Valve Control and Electronic Elevator Control) developed by Honda in the 1980s, a 5-speed manual transmission or an automatic 4 transmission speed sport.
